Position: Risk Analyst & Security Consultant (Contract / Full-Time)
Location: United Kingdom (site-based and remote working depending on projects) 
Contract Type: Contract / Full-Time
Start Date: Immediate or negotiable
Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience and project scope

Role Overview

Atlas is seeking an experienced Risk Analyst & Security Consultant to support the delivery of specialist consultancy services to public, private, and event-based clients. The successful applicant will conduct risk assessments, evaluate threats, and provide informed security recommendations that support safe operations and organisational resilience.
This opportunity is suitable for an experienced professional looking to apply their knowledge within an expanding UK security consultancy on a flexible contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

The consultant will be required to deliver high-level advisory and assessment functions, including:

  • Conducting structured physical, operational, and procedural risk assessments
  • Completing security audits, vulnerability assessments, and threat identification exercises
  • Producing evidence-based risk assessment reports aligned with UK standards
  • Analysing threats affecting organisations, events, infrastructure, and personnel
  • Providing expert guidance on mitigation measures and resilience planning
  • Supporting event-specific risk management and crowd safety planning
  • Undertaking on-site inspections and preparing detailed documentation
  • Advising clients on UK protective security expectations including NPSA, Protect UK, and national security guidance frameworks
  • Working with senior management to design and review security action plans and reporting to the senior Director.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and professional independence
  • Keeping knowledge current with evolving risks, technology, and best practice

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • A Master’s degree in Security, Risk Management, Counter-Terrorism, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 10 years’ professional security experience (policing, military, intelligence, or similar)
  • International deployment or mission experience (UN or equivalent organisation)
  • Strong analytical and written reporting skills
  • Proven experience in security or risk assessment environments
  • Valid SIA front-line licence
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Minimum one year of UK private security industry experience

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience producing risk assessments against UK government standards
  • Exposure to consultancy, emergency planning, or counter-terrorism projects
  • Knowledge of UK protective security regulation and legislation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong communication and client engagement ability

Working Pattern & Contract Terms

  • Contract assignment/ Full time 
  • Flexible weekly hours depending on project load

  • Home-based working with site visits when required
